Ford Cooper is focused on the tone and a story to show the colors he sees in music
Ford Cooper, born and raised in Clarksville, Tennessee, is an emerging 23-year old musician whose soulful melodies and introspective lyrics resonate with audiences worldwide.
Cooper’s music exemplifies the boundless possibilities of artistic expression. From the gritty sounds of 90’s grunge to the smooth rhythms of neo-soul, his musical journey is a testament to the transformative power of music.
Ford’s musical odyssey began at the age of 15 when he first picked up a guitar. Drawn to the raw energy and emotional depth of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, it was the authenticity of these bands that ignited his personal desire to become a musician.
As his musical horizons expanded, Ford’s journey took a pivotal turn when he discovered Jimi Hendrix. He was intrigued by Hendrix’s virtuoso guitar playing and innovative approach to blend blues, rock, and R&B.
Ford dove even deeper into the rich tapestry of musical genres highlighting the soulful sounds of artists like Marvin Gaye, D’Angelo and Erykah Badu. This allowed him to craft his own unique sound, blending a fusion of smooth grooves, heartfelt lyrics, and infectious melodies.

Vernon Williams - Former player of “The Gap Band”
“The crowd paid attention to every song we played. I’ve never played with an artist like that before.”
Adrian Sanders - Lead guitarist in Ford Cooper’s Band
“‘All I Ever Say’ is one of my favorites. It’s the lyrics. The message and the story and the emotion that the song focuses on. Blue is the color I see when I play it. The Vibe is blue. The tempo is blue. It’s just what I see. Red mixed in sparingly. Icy blue, red, and black. Less than thirty minutes and this song came out of me. The structure came from where I was in that moment. Needing to capture it. The lyrics wrote themselves. No red-editing. The projector was another tool to portray the message. Often my eyes are closed when I’m playing the song live. I’m just trying to see it. Trying to get there.”
